Brad The Bear

I have lost 2 more pounds. I am slowly starting to work out more. I went for a bike ride yesterday. I need to buckle down and quit being lazy. That's my only excuse!

Jen's weigh-in.

I'm doing the happy dance. I don't know if my metabolism finally kicked in, or if it is the protein powder I'm using now, or if it is just a fluke, or WHAT, but I've been losing weight, despite the fact that I had a crazy week last week (actually, probably the last two weeks). I am less than a pound from my next goal. It makes me wonder if I was restricting my calories a bit too much, because I've been so busy the last week that I've had to eat some things (I had a snickers bar for dinner at a conference one night last week!) that I shouldn't have. I think I only worked out three times last week (three times on the treadmill, and two of those times I also did weights). Need to get back on track with that this week.

Have you guys noticed your body's methods throughout these past however many weeks? (What week are we on? I know I'm on week 10 of Total Body Makeover) I've started to become much more familiar with my body's tendencies. Makes me feel better to know what is going on, motivates me to do the right thing because I'm more aware of how my body reacts to things, and while things seem to move slowly at times, I know that my body works in spurts.

Becky Becky boe Becky

Ok, I don't know what week to put this as. I am cracking down on food intake, starting today! I am sticking to it! AND I am excited to get a Legacy Center membership. Don't know what I will do there, but hopefully something to burn some FAT!

April -- Week 14

I am up a pound. I guess reverting to my old ice cream habits was a bad idea! Oh well, it is a new day and I will be a better eater.

I hope to sweat off at least a few pounds in Vegas next week!!

Brad The Bear

Well I am back on a regular work schedule now. Which means I can be on a regular work out schedule. I have not lost or gained for a while. But my goals are to work out 3-4 times a week. Bikeing, eliptical, and running and maybe swimming now and again.

April -- Week 13

So you remember that whopping .2 of a pound I dropped last week. Well I picked it up again :) Like I said earlier, I couldn't stop eating this past week. What is a girl to do!?!?!?

The triathlon went well. I definitely know what weaknesses I need to focus on for the next race. So it is back to training!!

Happy sweating!!

Somebody Stop ME!!

I am eating every Carb that I can get my hands on! I am seriously out of control!! I cant figure out why I have been so freaking hungry this week. I need my jaw wired shut!!

Tuesday, March 24, 2009

April -- Week 12

I am down by a whopping .2 of a pound!! I have been working my tush off. I can see that things are firming up. So I wont beat myself up about such a small loss this week. Someone at work said they can tell I have lost weight. So that is definitely encouraging!!

This coming weekend is the big day... the triathlon. I am getting excited for it! My running is getting faster each training session. And we have been riding lots. So I might be slower then the other competitors, but at least this race wont kill me. :)

Remember to STRETCH!!!

Biggest Slacker EVER

That's me! I have been such a bum not posting!!! I have actually lost a pound...LOL. I need to get back into the swing of working out more. This week I did Zumba once (I had school on the other Zumba night :( and went on a bike ride yesterday. I know it's not enough to be losing weight, but I figure if I'm active at all it's a good thing. My regular routine with the girls just doesn't include exercise most of the time, so I'm proud when I actually do work out. Keep up the good work you guys! You're rockin'!!!

Jen's weigh-in.

I can't say I had a great week in the weight-loss department. In fact, I think I'm up just a bit from where I was at last week. And remember how I said I was going to do better with my weights workouts last week? Well. Yeah. About that. Um...that didn't really happen. I did weights once (could have been twice, can't remember at the moment) last week. I ran on the treadmill five times. My last couple runs have felt so hard. I've felt weak. I can really tell the difference between when I'm running with lots of good food in my system and those times when I try to run with little or nothing in my stomach. It is just so frustrating to find the ideal time. I feel sick if I run right after I eat, but I feel weak if it has been too long since I ate. I'm really starting to see why people drink protein shakes. Doesn't help that our treadmill is on the fritz. It has a mind of its own and keeps slowing down drastically. I've come close to injuring myself and it is really making me mad. Punching the machine strangely didn't help, just made my hand hurt.

Brad The Bear 3/17/09

Howdy!!! I am down another pound this week-for a total loss of 11 pounds. I went for a bike ride today, I bike at least 3 times a week. I'm getting better with my eating.

Monday, March 16, 2009

April -- Week 11

I am down 1 lb. this week. I worked out really hard all week, so I am a bit bummed that my loss wasn't larger. Oh well! I must admit, I had two bowls of Strawberry Shortcake last night (yummy)! But this is the least I have weighed since Brad and I got married, so that is surely a good thing :)

I love that more fresh fruit is now available. Spring time is a natural diet boost with all this fresh produce to eat. Strawberries are my fav!! So I plan to load up on fresh foods this week.

Happy sweating!!

Brad the Bear

Hey everybody. Well I haven't lost any more weight, but I have maintained. I am getting better at watching what I eat. I got a new bike so I plan on biking at least 2-3 times a week and working out on top of that. Good luck this week!!

Monday, March 9, 2009

Jen's weigh-in.

Hey ya'll. I'm down 2.4 lbs. this week. I had a goal to get below a certain number this week, and when I hit it on Wednesday, I was doing the happy dance. Then this morning I was down a tiny bit more. I did five 38 min. runs and one 80 min. walk this week. I also did weights twice, which wasn't as much as I had hoped. I ate pretty well, with the exception of lunch at Taco Time, but I still managed to stay well within my calorie allowance. I'm 2.6 pounds away from my next goal...I yell the number at myself while I run. I'm weird that way.

I'm hoping this week goes well because I'm not kicking it off well....Girl Scout cookies arrived today (I've had one tagalong, one samoa, and four thin mints). My schedule probably isn't going to allow me to workout today, plus we are going out to dinner for our anniversary. I'll have to eat well and workout hard tomorrow to make up for it!

A find that I've been enjoying....there are these bagels and english muffins called "the alternative bagel" put out by Western Bagel...you can find them at WalMart in the refrigerated section right by the cream cheese. They are 110 cals, have 7 gr of fiber, and 6 gr of protein. Good way to curb the carb fix and get some fiber in. I like them a lot (yes, I do put cream cheese on them....a girl has to live, people). I've been drinking less Dr. Pepper, but I can't/won't completely cut it out. I've been trying to at least drink diet Dr. Pepper when I crave it. I don't really love the diet Dr. Pepper, so I actually think that has helped me stop drinking it as much.

Good luck!

April -- Week 10

I lost a pound and a half. So I fell a little short of our two pounds per week, but am still happy. I figure with all the girl scout cookies I ate last week it is a miracle that I didn't gain a dozen pounds. :)

We got new bikes this weekend. So we plan on spending lots f time in the saddle. So that will surely help lose some unwanted poundage!! Next Saturday and Sunday should be gorgeous. Who wants to join us for a ride??

This week I promise to watch my food intake. That is a huge problem for me.

Three weeks left until the Triathlon! So it is heavy training time. I am getting nervous about the run. But Myles and I are going to a training seminar Wednesday night to help us out. I am keeping my fingers crossed that we have decent weather on the day of the race.

Have a Healthy Week!!

Tuesday, March 3, 2009

Brad The Bear

Hello everybody. So I have not stepped on a scale for a while now. But I am getting back on the bull. Ye-ha!! I would assume I still stand at having lost ten pounds. I am all in for losing 2 pounds a week. I'm pretty sure I can do that, I still have a lot of water weight and fat. I did go for a short 20 minute bike ride tonight. So i'm headed in the right direction. March is gonna be a good month. Gitty-up

Monday, March 2, 2009

Jen's ramblings.

Well, as I recall, I never got around to posting last week. Probably because my weight was artificially inflated due to the time of the month (TMI?!). But I weighed myself today and I'm back down. I am five pounds down from my starting weight. I fluctuate a little bit within about a pound or two, but I'm determined to break through and get down this week. I've been fairly consistent with my workouts....I ran four times last week and did weights three times. Hoping to do a little better this week. I didn't work out all weekend (Fri-Sun) and I was really busy with work stuff, so I was eager to get back to it today and it felt great. I've been doing the workout plan that Bob Greene outlines in his Total Body Makeover...I may have already mentioned that. You increase the cardio by two minutes each week. So I'm supposed to do 38 mins of cardio 5 days this week, and then 76 mins of cardio on one day (so six days of cardio total). Then weights every other day. This is the 5th week that I've been doing the program.

I admire April's ambitious goal of 2 lbs. a week for the month of March. I'm certainly willing to work towards that. (I admit I'm skeptical of my ability to lose that much, but if I did, I would be ecstatic and getting very close to my final goal).

I've been doing reasonably well with my eating, but I confess I have been buying those 100 calorie treats to get me through. Hostess and Mrs. Freshley's have lots of fiber in theirs, so that is how I've justified it. I noticed that the 100 calorie Little Debbie snow puffs that I just bought don't have the added fiber, so that is a bummer! I did bake cookies last week, and when I totalled the recipes calories and divided it out, it totally depressed me how many calories were in each cookie, so I probably will be able to keep myself from making cookies for a while (unfortunately, I ordered Girl Scout cookies quite a while ago and I know they'll be showing up soon).

Anyone have any good healthy recipes to share? I need some inspiration. I have definitely been paying more attention to the "extras" I add that have a lot of calories...sour cream is probably the hardest for me. Love me some sour cream. I have been eating the Fiber One yogurts and Fiber One cereals. Both are surprisingly good. I was definitely happy to discover the cereals are so good. I've had the raisin bran and the honey clusters (good with a banana cut into it). I've been trying to add more and more beans into our diet for fiber and protein. As I track my macros, I find that protein is where I need to pay the most attention....I don't eat enough of it. I've been eating the Hillshire Farms oven roasted turkey as a snack (the deli meat that comes in the tupperware thingies with the red lid). I love that turkey, even just by itself, but I wish it didn't have quite so much sodium.

Eager to hear how everyone is doing. I know I could use some good accountability....it gets frustrating when you are just maintaining rather than losing, especially when you are working out.

April -- Week 9

Ok, so I only maintained my weight this week. But I did get back into my regular work out routine of 4 hours a week. So that is a positive thing. Our favorite ZUMBA teacher is back in action this week, wahoo!! So that should help for sure!

I have a goal for all of us this month..... drum roll please.... We should all aim to lose 2 lbs a week this month. We are going to rock the month of March!

The Triathlon is on the 28th of this month. I think I am ready. I know I will take forever and a day to finish, since I run like a snail, but I am ok with that. I just want to finish it.

Have an energetic week!!

Monday, February 23, 2009

Brad The bear

Hey everbody. I guess I better do a post. I have lost a total of ten pounds and have maintained that for a week now.

Heather - Week 8

I am still at my starting weight. LOL. I just have to laugh about it nor or I'm gonna be really pissed :) Anywho - I've been a slacker the last two weeks, so this week my goal is to work out 4 times and get my nose back to the sweaty grindstone!

April -- Week 8

I went and gained 2 pounds this week, not so good. I have been eating everything in sight the last few days. And those yummy mini cadbury chocolate eggs are out for Easter now. I am doomed for sure! Time to chain me to a treadmill and only feed me carrots and water.

Oh what is a girl to do!?!?!?

Thursday, February 19, 2009

Becky

I am here, I promise!! I am hitting it hard from now on, not the ice cream or cookies, but the self control! I have maintained all through Christmas, New YEars, a death in the family, Valentine's and now the Easter candy is out, what am I going to do! Those peeps just make my mouth water! Ok, so I have a hard time with food, can you tell? And lately I have no drive to exercise, help me! Words of advice please!! And April, can I borrow a movie or 2?

April Week 7

Given that I had/have a nasty sinus infection and thus fell off the wagon this past week, I am avoiding the scale at all costs. Seriously though, I know I must have gained a little. So I decided to skip this weeks weigh in and just get back on the wagon. No use climbing on the scale and depressing myself. So it is back in action for me. Better watch out!!! I am back in full force!!

I'm Busted Too...

I have been a big loser and haven't worked out once this week. I've felt like crap. I didn't even Zumba last night! What is the world coming to?

Anyway, I'll do better next week...maybe.

Thursday, February 12, 2009

Busted.

Okay, okay. I'll post about my miserable progress, or lack thereof. Last week sucked. Bottom line. I worked out Monday night and then I was down and out the rest of the week with this idiotic cold. Couldn't breathe, felt terrible. Didn't even cook dinner like two or three times. Then we were in SLC most of the weekend and the terrible record continued. I didn't gain anything, but I don't think I really lost anything either.

I'm working out again this week but not as vigorously. Still blowing my nose like crazy and coughing a bit, so I'm just doing what I can. So there, now you know why I haven't posted my lousy progress.

HELLOOOO

Where are you all hiding!?!?! Why hasn't anyone else posted this week?!?! Your killing me! I broke down and had ice cream last night. I totally blame all of you!! :)

Monday, February 9, 2009

April -- Week 6

Down 1 pound this week! I ate really well this week and kept to my exercise routine, so I was hoping for a little more. But I am just excited to be losing at all. I have gone down a notch on my belt as well. So that is visual proof that good things are happening!

This week I was able to do all the jump rope intervals at the step class, so I was way proud of myself for that. Also, when I ran on Saturday I upped my speed and went much further then last time.

And remember what Tony Little tells us... "You can do it, and if you cant, we all can tell!"

Tuesday, February 3, 2009

Jen's weigh-in.

I'm pretty much the same. So I'm down just shy of five pounds since I started. Kinda frustrating considering I worked my tail off last week and ate pretty darn well. I did cardio six times (running) and strength-training three times.

I've been doing the fitness program from Bob Greene's Total Body Makeover. It includes cardio, flexibility (stretching & abs stuff) and just basic weights stuff....squats, lunges, chest press, butterfly, etc. You build up each week but last week was five sessions of 30 mins cardio and one double-session cardio (one hour). Then the weights program three days and the flexibility every day (which I didn't do...only did when I did weights).

I also tried HIIT(high intensity interval training) for the first time and that was good, definitely a new challenge. You can google about it....good for fat-burning and you can do it on the elliptical, treadmill, whatever. I did great drinking my water....something that is so hard for me.

I'm trying really really hard to eat breakfast in the morning to get my metabolism going. Once I start eating, it isn't bad, but I feel like puking when I try to eat in the morning. Also, I'm not eating after 8pm.

I'm worried about this week because I'm not feeling well. Our family has been fighting a cold and I've managed to only be mildly affected, but today I'm blowing my nose constantly and definitely feeling more congested. booo.

Glad to hear that everyone is chugging along. I definitely benefit from doing this with you guys. have a good week!

Monday, February 2, 2009

Brad the bear 2/2/09

I some how managed to lose more weight. I'm sure how since I didn't even work out all week. But even with my crazy schedule I guess I still ate halfway decent. So far I have lost 11.02 pounds. I plan to some how fit in working out this week. My goal for this month is two lose 8 Ibs. Well good luck this week and hang in there. You can do it!!!!!

Heather - Week 5

I'm getting kind of frustrated now because I haven't lost a thing. I weighed myself this morning and I'm exactly the same as my starting weight. Whatever.

April -- Week 5

One month down!!! I lost exactly 3 pounds this week. So I am shy of my months goal of 5 lbs by .4 of a lb. So I am very happy!!! The goal for this month is another 5 lbs. So no time for slacking!!

Saturday I did a video called Long & Lean. It was a slower, control ed movement type of workout. I like the fast paced ones usually, but man this on did the job. I felt totally sore yesterday from it. Just another reminder to mix up your routine and keep your body guessing.

Jen's weigh-in.

Hey ya'll. This last week went so-so. I ate well, drank lots of water, tracked my calories and exercise, etc. I gained about a half a pound. I could have done a lot better about eating breakfast...not my strong suit for sure. I did cardio five times and strength-training a couple times, not as many as I hoped/planned.

I wasn't happy with this week's results, so I'm feeling even more motivated to kick some butt this week.

Heather's Post

Hey guys! I forgot to post yesterday...it was a doosey. However, I did weigh myself. I am back to my starting weight, so no improvement yet. Oh well. I'm kind of bummed that it's taking so long to lose ANYTHING, but I feel really proud of myself for meeting my goal of working out 3 times a week. I know that if I stick with it, I'll be healthier and hopefully a little lighter :)

The girls and I drove over to April's this morning to borrow one of her (MANY :) workout videos. I nabbed a Kathy Smith one that looks like it may have been produced before I entered the world, and "The Firm" something or other. We did the Firm one this morning and I actually really enjoyed it! It was kind of short though - only 45 minutes total. Maybe I'll do extra abs next time I do that video to fill an hour. Thanks for the videos Ape! You have a veritable smorgosborg of workouts on tape!!

Monday, January 26, 2009

Brad the bear

I did'nt gain or lose. I maintained this week. I did meet my goal of working out 3 times thanks to April. I need to watch a little better what I eat this week but i'm still doing good. Good luck to everybody.

April -- Week 4

It was a bad-sad weigh in for me this morning. I have gain nearly 1.5 lbs this week. I guess the pumpkin bread and muffin tops were a bad idea! I still did really good working out though. I do feel more tone, so that is a positive thing. I have had to use my inhaler less lately as well. So things are still going well, even if the dang scale wants to rain on my parade!

I have been working out a min. of 4 times a week. My routine is:
Mon.- Elliptical 20min & weights/abs 30 min
Tues.- 1 Hr Step
Thur.- 1 Hr Zumba
Sat.- 20 min Bike or Run & at least 16 laps of swimming

Food

Here are a few foods we are loving lately. They are low-guilt but high-flavor. Please share what foods are getting you excited these days.

Fish- we have had both Halibut and Salmon this past week. I love grilled fish!
Jell-o -- This is so saving me since I have a HUGE sweet tooth. If we are feeling indulgent we may even put some light cool whip on it.
Edemamme -- so yummy, and so guilt free! Just go easy on the salt.
Hard Boiled Eggs-- yes, we eat the yolks too, but eggs are a great source of protein.
Craisins -- I keep these at my desk for when I get the munchies.
Kashi Bars - love the Trail Mix flavor. I eat one of these and chug water about an hour before step class.
Zip Fiz -- It flavors your water and adds vitamins and our little friend, caffeine! (My favorite flavor is Berry)
Mini Rice Cakes - the Apple Cinnamon are to die for.

Brad the bear

I lost 2 more pounds. For a Total of 8 pounds lost so far. Just eating a lot better, and working out 3-4 times a week. Good luck and hang in there!!!!!!!!!

Jen's weigh-in.

Good news. I'm down 4.4 pounds from last week's weigh-in. I've actually been shocked/pleased to watch my weight go down through out the week (we aren't supposed to be staying away from the scale throughout the week are we?). I worked out four times (running/walking 3x, core secrets video 1x, biggest loser video 1x).

I'm encouraged, but I also know that I have this habit of losing the first five pounds and then turning around eating it right back on. I am determined to get past the five lb. flux that I usually experience. Here's hoping.

I think the new scale has helped....it really does motivate me to see even itsy bitsy progress on there each morning. I've also been using thedailyplate like I mentioned, and that has been helping me. When I wrote everything down, I knew I'd have to write down "Zinger- 160 calories, blahblahblah". But with the daily plate, not only do I have to add it to what I've eaten that day, but it also totals all my fat, cals, sugars, etc., in addition to telling me how many calories I have left to consume for the day. The site helps you figure out how many calories you should eat to lose however many pounds you want to lose in a week.

What I don't like about the daily plate...I don't love the way you track exercise, but I think I'm going to stop using their numbers and use the numbers from my treadmill and my heart rate monitor to track how many calories I've burned. The other thing I don't like is trying to figure out how many calories I consumed in difficult-to-calculate meals (ex:we ate breakfast burritos on Saturday and I have no idea if I was really anywhere close to what I actually ate because I didn't measure what I ate.) So one of my goals for this week is to do some research and try to find a website/resource that will allow me to type in a recipe that I've prepared and figure out how many calories are in a serving.

Other goals for this week...drink two water bottles a day. Workout more. Cardio 5x, strength training 3x. Eat breakfast everyday (this is soooo hard for me).

Good work, everyone. I'm so glad we are doing this. I really need the extra motivation.

April -- Week 3

This was a great week! I lost 2.4 pounds this week (for a total loss of 3.4 lbs.). I have been working out really hard, so it looks like it is finally paying off. Brad and I have been doing pretty good with what we are eating. I did make Pumpkin Spice Bread this weekend and we have been gobbling that down in nothing flat (oh so naughty!).

I have a Q for Becky and Jen, since you two are the runners in the group. What pointers can you give me on running? I am the slowest runner ever. I think a speed walker could pass me up. So are there tricks of the trade to help with speed, calf/shin pain, that good old runners stitch? Anything would help at this point!!

So seriously, is no one else going to do the Triathlon with Myles and I. I am doing it just to complete it, not to compete. I will probably be close to the last over the finish line, but as long as I finish I will be stoked. Come on guys, at least think about it!

Woo Hoo!

Guess what guys...I'm 3 pounds down from my starting weight! I was all happy until I realized that my scale is probably just on the fritz. Seriously. Last week I was up some poundage and this week I'm down some poundage? Sounds a bit fishy to me. Anywho - I'm going to change the batteries in my scale today.

I met my goal last week. (sort of) I didn't Zumba on Saturday, but we took the girls swimming. Since we had to hold them the entire time, I consider that a workout :)

My goal for this week is to work out 3 times and to drink more water throughout the day.

Good luck you guys!

Give it a TRI

Ok- the first local triathlon of the season is on March 28, plenty of time to train!! So who is in with me?!?!? Come on guys!!! I know Myles and I are in for suresies, so don't make us go it alone.
Check out the website at
http://www.goldmedalracing.com/events/icebreakertri/

Come on you know you wanna TRI it!!!!!!

The Daily Plate.

Do any of you guys ever use "The Daily Plate"? You can find it on www.livestrong.com. I have used the daily plate in the past to check on the nutritional content of something I've eaten at a restaurant, but it has most everything on there. Sometimes just knowing the nutritional facts about a food is enough to make it less appealing (somehow this hasn't worked for my Starbucks love though). Anyhow, you can also use the daily plate to track your food intake and exercise each day. I'm thinking that might be easier for me than writing it all down and calculating things in a book. Just thought I'd pass it along in case you want to play with it. Seems to be pretty accurate...as far as the restaurant items, they are taken from the restaurant's nutritional facts, not just made up.

Jen's ramblings.

Ah, where to start? I'm a week behind ya'll, but I did go to WalMart early this morning and get a new scale so I could weigh myself (old scale wasn't digital and it was broken...added an extra 20+ lbs.). I think the digital scale will be motivating to me...I felt the old scale only gave me a ballpark figure.

So yeah. I weighed myself. Then ate a fudgie cookie and a Dr. Pepper before getting on the treadmill for 30 mins. and doing a Core Secrets video for 25 mins. I would love to lose 20 lbs. If I lost 25 lbs, I would be thrilled. I work out pretty regularly, but my eating habits go up and down. I have a food journal that I keep when I'm really feeling motivated, but then I always get out of the habit and forget about it. I have an exercise log that I keep pretty religiously, occasionally forgetting to log my workouts, but usually I'm pretty good about it because it makes me feel good to look at what I've been doing. It especially makes me feel better considering I work out a fair amount and never really lose weight. I definitely see a difference in my body, but losing weight doesn't come easily, to be sure.

I really want to be better about drinking more water. I try to limit myself to one can of soda a day, but I really need to cut that down. Dr. Pepper is my huge downfall. The way I get myself to drink more water is to add those Crystal Light packets (or the new Ocean Spray ones) which only have like 5 calories (though they do have phenylalanine). This helps me get more water in me, but they are still sweet, so many would say that's bad. It helps me, so I drink it.

I'd like to know what workouts everyone enjoys, has had success with, etc. I am partial to the treadmill and some videos that I use (I'll try to take some pics and post what they are and what I like about them). I would love to be able to go to the gym, but money, time and the two kiddos just make it easier to work out at home.

Guess that's enough rambing for now. Brad, you can stop harassing me now.

Monday's weigh in!!

I have lost 2.4 pounds since last week. A grand total of losing 5.6 pounds.

Brad The bear!!!!

WhatEVER!

I gained a pound and a half this week, apparently...stupid scale. Although, I did weigh myself this afternoon with my clothes on instead of in the morning, stark nekked (TMI, I know) like I did for my initial "starting" weight.

BUT I'm proud of myself because I met my goal of working out 3 times. I did the 20-20-20 class on Tuesday morning, and Zumba on Thursday and Saturday. My goal is to do those three classes again this week.

Peace Out!

STRESS!

Let's just say that a death in the family and work problems are causing me to eat chocolate cake for breakfast today. BUT, my good news is that over the month of December up until now I didn't gain anything! After all this stuff in the next few weeks calm down, and my chocolate cake is gone, I am going to be good at working out. I really want to go to Zumba sometime! And way to go Brad keeping a food journal, it stinks when you read it and actually see what you are putting in your mouth all day long!

April -- Week 2

I lost 1 pound this week. I was hoping for more, but at least it is in the right direction. I have been working out really hard, so hopefully I am gaining muscle too.
On Saturday Brad and I had a great workout at the Legacy Center. I biked for 4.5 miles and swam 16 laps. No too shabby for our first time back in the pool in forever.
This week I am preparing for an IRS audit at work. So if I can make it though that without stress-eating I will be ever so proud of myself!!

Killer Toning Work-Out

Try this great work-out and I promise you will "feel the burn"!!!

http://www.self.com/fitness/workouts/2009/01/the-great-one-month-slim-down-slideshow

I also made it into a Word document for easy use during exercising. I put mine in a page protector to keep it safe while I am all sweaty and trying to read the next move :) I cant figure out how to attach a doc at this moment. So if you would like it leave a comment and I will email it to you.

Peace Out!!

20-20-20

I'm proud of myself today because I went to a new class at the rec center. It's always a little nerve-racking trying out a new class because 1) I'll probably look like a fool, and 2) I might just look like a TOTAL goober and pass out because I'm so out of shape! Anywho - the class is called 20-20-20 because they do 20 minutes of cardio, weights, and abs. Though it's really closer to 30-20-10 :)

The girls attended the rec center daycare for the first time today too! They did really well! Though Janie did have a poopy diaper halfway through and I had to run out to the car to get diapers and wipes, so I missed about 10 minutes of the weights :( (So I guess that puts me at 30-10-10) ;) But Gracie said that the "teachers" were nice and that she wouldn't mind going back sometimes. Really, I'm just grateful that they only have to do that once a week. The other two workouts are evening and Sat, so Joe takes the kidlets for me.

Brad The Bear

So far I have lost 3.6 pounds. I have been eating a lot more healthier and keeping a journal.

April -- Week 1

This was really only half of a week. But I seemed to gain weight!! Whatever! (Stupid scale) Ok, I promise to drink lots more water this week and workout at least 4 times. I have a raging headache from cutting down my soda intake (so hopefully I don't go postal on anyone today).

Brad and I had a yummy-healthy dinner last night of Chicken Moroccan Stew. We found the recipe in a magazine. I will post the recipe tonight for you guys to try. It turned out really good and wasn't difficult to make.

I have a goal to lose 5lbs. this month. I better have better results next week if I am going to do that.

Happy Exercising!!

Heather A

Okay, so I forgot to weigh myself last week, but I'm going to do that today for my "starting weight." I haven't really watched what I ate this week, but I did workout once. LOL. That's pretty lame, but Zumba was cancelled on Thursday night, so it's not really my fault.

Anyway, this week, my goal is to go to Amanda's 20-20-20 (whatever the heck that is) class at the Legacy Center on Tuesday morning, Zumba on Thursday and Saturday, and call it a success!

I'm gonna go weigh myself...the definition of NOT FUN ;)
